Passionate supporters of the pop star are calling for that a individual who jumped a barrier and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.

A viral footage shows the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and lunging at Grande while the cast made its way down a event pathway accompanied by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being taken in", though legal records revealed that he was due to appear on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last December.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Voice Worry Over Ariana's Well-being

Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the finale of her 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented another response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others called for digital services to block Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of Singapore supporters had waited to see the actors of Wicked

Numerous of attendees had assembled in a crowd of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional debut in a Singapore mall, including some who had waited for as long as many hours before it started.

The film, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film adaptation of the acclaimed stage production Wicked, which centers on the surprising relationship between two contrasting witches.

The show itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and received 10 Oscar nominations, earning several for outstanding attire and production design.
