Weapon-carrying attackers have killed a teacher and abducted at least 25 students in an assault against a girls' secondary school in north-western Nigeria, according to police.
The criminal group stormed the comprehensive secondary school for girls in Maga, Kebbi State at approximately 04:00 local time on the beginning of the work week, authorities reported.
The armed individuals "confronted officers on duty in a gun duel" before climbing over the boundary wall and abducting the learners from their living quarters, authorities disclosed.
