I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
