Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his family said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
